Step 2: Only those who have met the requirements for the JSI role will be asked to the interview day on October 10, 2009
Step 3: After the interview, applicants will be notified whether or not they have been chosen to serve as a JSI.
Step 4: Attend the JSI Retreat, complete required training and requirements attributed to the JSI role.

Team Leader/JSI Retreat: Everyone serving as a leadership intern (JSI) is REQUIRED to attend the team leader retreat. This will be a time of learning your role and training on how to effectively lead a team. The retreat will take place April 10 & 11th, 2010, location TBD.

Base Camp: You are required to come to pre-trip training provided by iWitness called Base Camp. This time is focused on team building, spiritual preparation, training, etc. The Base Camp location has not been finalized yet, but it will take place in the Dallas area on June19-22, 2010.

Commissioning: We encourage each church to commission their student. We will also have a time of commissioning at the beginning of Base Camp on June 20. This will coincide with a brief Parent's meeting and reception as students are dropped off for their trip.

Cost: Until we get our airfare secured, we are not able to give a final price for the trip. The trip cost includes airfare, in-country transportation, housing, food, Base Camp, insurance, supplies, administrative fees, etc. The only thing not covered in the trip cost will be the student's transportation to Base Camp, transportation home from the airport, and souvenirs.

Fundraising: This is part of the process of doing missions. This is a part of your going because it challenges your faith as you see God provide. You will learn to trust God, which will better equip you for your trip. We provide a fundraising packet of information, suggestions, and ideas to all participants. There is a special emphasis given to getting your church involved, and we provide suggestions on that as well. You can download it here.

Communication: Our website is designed to be the main source of information related to our ministry. Because we deal with students and in an effort to save money, a great majority of our communication will be done through the web and through e-mail. If anyone has trouble accessing the internet, please let us know so we can make sure any pertinent information is not missed. Please make sure that we have a valid e-mail for you. We will continue to communicate all necessary information as the trip preparation progresses.
