East
Asia University Evangelism:
You
will work with local university students to bring hope to
the next generation! A large percentage of these college
students are seeking truth and hope, and they believe they
will find it through education or other means. Specifically,
you will develop friendships for the purpose of sharing
your story, take language classes, and live on the university
campus. Your life and witness will allow the students to
see what a follower of Jesus "looks like." You
will also have the opportunity to disciple young believers
and prepare them to disciple others. Prayer is an important
part of the ministry. You will also have the opportunity
to prayer walk the university campus and the city several
times a week. Through prayer and abundant Gospel sowing,
we believe we will see Father draw people into a relationship
with Him and that this nation will be changed as Father
draws this generation of young adults to Himself.
Base
Camp: The first
three days of the trip are spent in training provided by
iWitness called Base Camp. This time is focused on team
building, spiritual preparation, training, etc. The Base
Camp location has not been finalized yet, but we will let
you know its location at a later date.
Commissioning:
We
encourage each church to commission their student. We will
also have a time of commissioning at the beginning of Base
Camp on May 23. This will coincide with a brief Parent's
meeting and reception as students are dropped off for their
trip.
Cost:
Until we get
our airfare secured, we are not able to give a final price
for the trip. We are estimating this trip to cost in the
neighborhood of $3,600 per person. The trip cost includes
airfare, in-country transportation, housing, food, Base
Camp, insurance, supplies, administrative fees, etc. The
only thing not covered in the trip cost will be the student's
transportation to Base Camp, transportation home from the
airport, and souvenirs.
Fundraising:
This is part
of the process of doing missions. This is a part of your
going because it challenges your faith as you see God provide.
You will learn to trust God, which will better equip you
for your trip. We provide a fundraising packet of information,
suggestions, and ideas to all participants. There is a special
emphasis given to getting your church involved, and we provide
suggestions on that as well. You can download it here.
Communication:
Our website
is designed to be the main source of information related
to our ministry. Students, please check your email regularly.
We will continue to communicate all necessary information
as the trip preparation progresses.
